Don’t Forget the Pets! — Eternal Earth-Bound Pets, USA

These guys are offering a service to take care of your pets if and/or when the Rapture occurs and you ascend to Heaven. I imagine there are many people concerned about just such an occurrence. Anyway, enjoy this! I did. Also, you can read more about this service and get valuable social commentary here. You can also buy the Atheist Camel’s book here.

  1. Matt,
just for the record, no prank, no scam. When (if) the Rapture happens this organization will fulfill its obligation and contractual agreements. I know this for a fact, albeit, I can’t say why. 😉

Now.. be a good guy and promote my book on your website by putting the book image in your right columns, and giving it a link to my book site: http://theatheistcamelchronicles.blogspot.com/

    Thanks, pal.

  2. Surely it is only responsible to point out that the ‘Rapture’ is never going to happen, that it is an illusion, and that if people are taking money under this pretext, they are scamming folk?

  3. Lets see… so because YOU dont believe in the Rapture, and millions of other people are as intense in their belief as YOU are in your disbelief… that giving them peace of mind and a promise to fulfill a contract after this so called event happens ..is a scam??

Youd better look up the word “scam”. If you find titheing to the church listed under the definition; or sending in prayer offerings to a televangelist there; or the purchase of Indulgences there; or the purchase of blessed relics there… fine. let me know.

Till then, there is no “scam” unless the rapture happens and the contracted party fails to fulfill their obligation.

This should be clear to any thinking person…especially an atheist.

  4. and walls, you cant possibly be an atheist… because any atheist will tell you there are no absolutes.
Will the rapture happen..i doubt it. But i would only doubtit to a degree of say 99.99999999999% .

that remaining .000000000001% of possibilty negates absolutism. You may want to reserve about that much potential belief in the Rapture, god, gods, et al yourself. Lest you be called an absolutist. which is worse than being called a fundie in my book.

    just a thought to ponder.

  5. Actually I’m not an atheist. I believe in God and have a strong faith. However, the Rapture is not going to happen. Taking money from folk saying it is, is lying to said folk. Is it fair to take money when you can’t say when the service will happen, what circumstances will be in place when the service has to happen, how the service will be provided, if it ever happens; this is a scam, and it would be similar to saying give me money and I will take care of your animals if you are abducted by aliens.

  6. ah! well, that you’re not an atheist explains your limited reasoning ability.

i did NOT say it is going to happen. the site specifically says I dont believe in the Rapture. Did you even read the site? The FAQS section? Nah. .

If someone takes out tornado insurance in Maine, insist they want it, eventhough there hasn’t been a major building damaged by a tornado in Maine in 75 years..is the insurance company issuing the polcy running a “scam”?

The insiurance company cant say if/when the tornado is going to happen, neither can the insistant insured. so Scam??
    Buy a dictionary…look up scam.

What circumstances will be in place, how will the service be provided? : READ THE SITE + what do YOU care since you are 100% sure it never will happen?

Thanks for the alien abduction idea. If eough peope want it, and want to pay for it, it sounds like a good business opportunity.

Lemme know if yuou want in on thatone.

  7. If all you are good for is insults, then goodness, what a surprise. For one thing, it is poor logic to use it in an argument, as it means you will either only get insults back, or spur the other person on to win the discussion.

If someone takes out insurance for a tornado in Maine, even if there has not been such an event for 75 years, such an event is still morely feasible than the nonsense of a Rapture. If the odds of such an event were calculated by an Actuary then the sheer size of these odds would makee it an injustice to take money off folks who wanted such insurance.

The rest of your post is just insults, and does not show you in your best light, I would say. If you don’t mind I am not going to respond to any more posts, as there is enough poor grammar and illogical understanding elsewhere on the Internet.

Good luck with your alien plan.

  8. mY WE ARE SENSITIVE.

oK… SO IF THE ODDS ARE HIGH, TAKING THE INSURANCE IS A SCAM..EVEN IF THE ONE PROVIDING THE POLICY PLAINLY STATES THAT THEY DON’T BELIEVE THE EVENT WILL HAPPEN…AND THE PURCHASER INSISTS THAT IT WILL.

tHUS, THE ONUS IS ON THE PERSON OF WHOM THE SERVICE IS REQUESTED TO TELL THE PERSON TO GO FIND ANOTHER SOURCE TO SATISFY THEIR SERVICE REQUEST? i SEE.

lEMME GUESS, YOU LIVE IN A TRAILER, AND WORK AT YOUR LOCAL 7-11?

oops..excuse the all caps. cap lock. but then again, you’re used to bad grammar, and likely erratic typing.

    God bless ya.
